Swisspor Polska Sp. z. o.o. introduces the system of automatic identification
Objective of the implementation:
- Automatic labelling of products with bar code labels
- Unequivocal identification of products on the production line
Benefits of the implementation:
SWISSPOR Polska Sp. z.o.o. is a part of the European Group “SWISSPOR Holding AG” with the headquarters in Switzerland. SWISSPOR Holding Group is one of the largest European manufacturers of building materials. Currently in Europe, the SWISSPOR group includes 29 factories which employ more than 2,000 employees in 7 countries.
In Poland the Swisspor has been present since 1999. Currently, the company has four production plants: in Chrzanów, Janów Podlaski, Międzyrzecze and Pelplin. They are located near to existing or planned motorways, what allows for the efficient execution of orders throughout the country, with optimized costs and minimized delivery lead time. Among the products manufactured by Swisspor in Poland are among others styrofoam, torch-on roof membranes and styrofoam boards laminated with tar paper.
In order to streamline the process of identifying production , as well as to adapt to the demands of contractors, Swisspor Polska Sp. z o.o. decided to implement the line for automatic products labeling.
SKK proposed a solution that provides a simple application of labels and legible labelling of the products, enabling their unequivocal identification, while guaranteeing operation speed and work performance. Solution consists of the label applicator, the Mectec printer and the accessories necessary for the system functioning.
Automatic label applicators have modular construction. They consist of the printing module, the applicating one and the accessories. They are modern and efficient devices for use in industrial environments. Applied inside them the trays for the labels and ribbon (450 metres), allow unattended operating for many hours.
Printers of applicators are equipped with fast processors which make possible the print of succeeding labels with new data. The ability of communication with devices in many ways (RS232, RS485, Ethernet, USB) enables easy integration in a manner dependent on the application requirements.
Durability and fail safety of devices are provided by casings and actuators of applicators made of the highest quality materials such as stainless steel, hardened aluminum or impact-resistant plastic. The devices are adjusted for continuous operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
By using branded components derived from the best suppliers, users have assured access to spare parts worldwide.
The first line for automatic production labelling was launched in Swisspor’s production plant in Międzyrzecze in 2006 by SKK. Currently, the system of products automatic labelling (8 automated lines) operates in all four Swisspor’s production plants in Poland.
Devices, installed at the end of the production line, print and then apply the labels on products packed previously. Now their labelling proceeds quickly and efficiently, it allows for greater control over the picking process, and hence reducing mistakes.
